You don't have to be Scottish to participate. You can wear a kilt if you want to, but it's not essential! This type of social dancing is suitable for all ages and nationalities. There are Scottish Dancing groups all over the world - if you're near to Chester this could be the one for you!
New members are always welcome.
Come and try it - your first visit is free.
We meet weekly on Thursday evenings, from September to May.
We dance a variety of reels, jigs and strathspeys from simple to more complicated. We have some teachers on hand to help if required and members will help and support any new members and beginners.

Unless otherwise stated, all weekly meetings are held on Thursdays at Caldy Valley Community Centre, Caldy Valley Road, Boughton, Chester, CH3 5PR from 7-30 pm to 10-00 pm.
Guests are not charged for the first night they attend. Thereafter the charge is £4.00 per person per night.
There is a "class dance" and "dance of the month" every evening. Full instructions and a walk through are given for these two dances. We do not normally run scheduled dancing classes. If sufficient people are interested we may be able to arrange for some tuition before our regular weekly meetings, or possibly at another time.
A bit of history... The society was formed towards the end of 1936. Initially the focus was on social events held in a variety of Chester venues, before eventually the dancing became the main activity, as it still is today.
